Derek Carr hasn't had much luck in his career against the Kansas City Chiefs. You can also add injury luck to this list.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback was hobbled after a hit by Chiefs DB Chamarri Conner in the fourth quarter of the Monday Night Football match between the two teams in Week 5.

Carr and the Saints trailed 23-13 at the time of the goal. It appeared as if he grabbed his back after being hit and walked to the medical tent.

Update on Derek Carr's injury

Carr left the Monday Night Football match in the fourth quarter after taking a hard hit from Conner.

Carr would enter the blue medical tent after the hit and make his way to the locker room shortly afterwards.

Carr would be listed as “questionable” with an oblique injury, according to the ESPN broadcast.

The quarterback would not be back on the field for the Saints' next offensive play.

If you're looking for experience on the Saints' bench behind Derek Carr, you're not going to get it. Jake Haener is listed as QB2, while Spencer Rattler is the third emergency QB behind Carr and Haener.

The Saints selected Haener in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Coincidentally, Haener attended Fresno State, the same school as Carr.
