This is why it's rude for sister Kody Brown's wife to say he wants to be friends with Meri Brown

This is why it's rude for sister Kody Brown's wife to say he wants to be friends with Meri Brown

for years, Kody Brown from Sister Wives has made it clear that he doesn't want any more Meri Brown in his life. Even though she tried to get back into his good graces, Kody often treated Meri pretty badly. Viewers watched as Kody often left Meri out of family gatherings. This caused her to feel extremely uncomfortable every time she came to visit. So it came as a surprise when Kody claimed he wanted to be friends with Meri.

Kody Brown doesn't want another enemy

Meri was Kody's first legal wife. The duo tied the knot in 1990 and were together for over 30 years. However, after an incident while catfishing, Kody lost trust in his wife and the two separated. On the most recent episode of Sister Wives, Kody shocked viewers by saying that he does his best to mend fences. In fact, Kody hoped to move on in life as friends. But Meri left Flagstaff and now lives in Utah, where she runs her own business. Kody shared that the last thing he needs right now is another enemy. The father of 18 noted that he and Christine Brown and Janelle Brown just don't get along.

In his confessional, Kody made it clear that he has no romantic feelings for Meri. Kody added: “She’s upset that I put this off for so long. I don't blame her. I don't want Meri to be at this point where it's taking this toll, this direction that both Christine and Janelle have taken. Oh yeah, 'I need another enemy now.'” Kody continued, “I think if I was single and Meri was single, would I date her? No, I wouldn't do that.” Kody's words felt hollow as he tried to convince viewers that he once cared deeply for him.

Kody Brown can't accept that his family is drifting apart

Kody acting like he wants to stay friends with Meri is out of left field. For years he did his best to ignore Meri's wishes and make her feel unloved. So now claiming that he wants to be friends with him sounds selfish. The patriarch wants to stay on good terms so that things get better for him. He doesn't worry about how Meri feels, which has been the crux of the problem for the past decade.

During another confessional, Kody noted, “That's why I'm trying to get to that point with Meri where you're like, 'Hey, can we just be friends and move on?'” Kody's intentions feel like he wants to sweep everything bad things he ever did under the carpet. It's annoying to see Kody not taking responsibility. Why would Meri want to continue being friends with her ex when he didn't do anything to show that he could be a good friend?

Kody Brown has bad relationships with almost everyone

During Episode 3, the Browns attended a family event. Although the cameras weren't allowed to film, it was easy to figure out that the event was the wedding of Logan Brown's eldest son. Kody noted that the entire experience was “uncomfortable” since all of his wives were keeping their distance. Kody once again acted like he was the only one hurting, noting, “Overall, the whole wedding was just sad for me. We used to travel everywhere as a family, and now my partners are almost like enemies. It's awkward. I don’t know what the solution is.”

After expressing his hope that he and Meri could be friends, Kody recalled his relationship with Christine, saying, “For Christine and I, I think it would have been better for the whole family if we had just broken up . Make sure we can get together again another time instead of polarizing everyone.” However, Christine has been anything but nice to Kody since leaving the polygamous family. The mother of six doesn't want to be friends with her ex and doesn't think Meri should be friends with Kody. It's obvious that Kody is having trouble understanding why he doesn't want to reconcile, but the man only has himself to blame.
