Titans QB Mason Rudolph starts against Bills while Will Levis recovers from a shoulder injury

Mason Rudolph will kick off Sunday afternoon in Buffalo.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Rudolph will lead the Tennessee Titans in their matchup against the Bills at Highmark Stadium as starter Will Levis continues to battle a shoulder injury. Levis will be inactive for the matchup.

Levis was limited in practice on both Wednesday and Friday due to the shoulder injury he first suffered in Week 4. Rudolph took over the Titans' lead after Levis went down in that game, going 9 of 17 for 85 yards in a blowout win over the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. That was Rudolph's only start this season.

More specifically, Levis is dealing with a second-degree AC sprain in his right shoulder. according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It is unclear how long Levis will be sidelined, although the injury is often expected to last four to five weeks. Levis will be taken into account on a week-by-week basis in the future.

Levis, the second-year quarterback from Kentucky, has struggled badly in five games this season. He threw for 699 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions, leading the Titans to a 1-5 start. Levis has led the league in turnovers for six weeks. He also went 16 of 27 yards for just 95 yards with a touchdown and an interception in last week's 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Even though he overcame the injury in this competition, the injury is obviously still bothering him and it is not improving.

The Titans also have quarterback Trevor Siemian available on their practice squad. In addition to Levis, the Titans offense will also be without running back Tyjae Spears, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, and wide receiver Treylon Burks, who is out with a knee injury, on Sunday.

The Bills enter Sunday's game with a 4-2 record after a 23-20 win over Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets last week. This win ended a two-game losing streak and moved them into first place in the AFC East.
