Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift-Inspired Film Reveals Cast Featuring 'Fake Gronk' Actor | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

After going viral for his portrayal of legendary New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on the FX series American Sports History: Aaron HernandezActor Laith Wallschleger will play the role of another famous NFL tight end.

According to Emily Longeretta from diversityLifetime on Tuesday announced the cast of its upcoming Christmas film titled Christmas in the spotlightwhich is based on the real-life relationship between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and global pop sensation Taylor Swift and will star Wallschleger.

Wallschleger will play the role of Drew, a professional soccer player who is heavily inspired by Kelce, while Jessica will play Lord Bowyn, who like Swift is a megastar musician.

The film will premiere on November 23rd as part of “It's a Wonderful Lifetime,” Lifetime's annual holiday movie series that runs from November 16th through Christmas Day.

Wallschleger recently made a name for himself with his over-the-top take on Gronk in the FX series based on the rise and fall of late former Patriots tight end and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez.

Gronkowski himself commented on Wallschleger's acting skills during an appearance Up & Adams with Kay Adams:

Gronk revealed that he and Wallschleger were actually real friends and praised Wallschleger for his first-class performance:

“It was definitely over the top. Want to know something fun about this clip? That's my good friend Laith playing me there. I've known him for about 14 years and he definitely exaggerated, and I.” But I feel like it just fits the show perfectly, especially with all the other characters and Coach (Bill) Belichick and because I'm also (Patriots -Owner) Robert Kraft on the show, that's a bit exaggerated Sure, but it played a role in the production of this show.

While Wallschleger was tasked with bringing Gronk to life American sports historyhe believes he has more creative freedom Christmas in the spotlight.

Instead of specifically playing Kelce, he's just playing a character based on Kelce, so he might be able to put his own spin on it.

Although Travis and Taylor are not mentioned by name Christmas in the spotlightIt's considered Lifetime's hottest movie of the season as both Chiefs fans and Swifties undoubtedly want to experience the much-hyped love story in film form.
