Trump campaign says Harris team canceled Baier interview: What we know

Former President Donald Trump's campaign claims that Vice President Kamala Harris' “handlers” abruptly ended her interview with Fox News host Bret Baier.

Harris sat down with Baier on Wednesday for her first Fox News interview since becoming the Democratic presidential candidate in July of this year. The often controversial interview, which aired for almost 27 minutes without commercials, touched on several explosive campaign topics and the vice president's criticism of Trump.

During an on-air discussion following the interview, Baier said that Harris arrived for the interview around 5:15 p.m., later than expected, and that Fox “pushed the envelope” to accommodate what was expected to be a 25-minute interview Interview to be completed before 6 p.m

At the end of the interview, Baier said during a broadcast of: Hannity A short time later: “It was warm, I said: 'Thank you very much, Madam Vice President, for your time.' There was no indication that the Harris team ended the interview early or ended it because they considered it a “disastrous” performance, despite the Trump campaign's claim.

Newsweek sought comment from the Harris campaign via email Wednesday evening.

When asked for comment, a Fox spokesperson noted Newsweek to Baier's comments.
