Hollywood filmmaker Tyler Perry is known for his inspirational messages in his films and speeches, usually with a strong feel-good ending that points to his strong faith and Christian beliefs.

But the 55-year-old billionaire, who was born and raised in New Orleans, probably has a clearer understanding of bounce-and-shake culture than most think.

Still, fans were stunned when footage began circulating on Sunday, October 20, showing The Six Triple Eight producer wowing exotic dancers during a recent Usher concert in Atlanta.

Several clips went viral, including a cell phone video shared by Spiritual Word that shows a woman twerking in front of the Madea creator before going into a split.

Then the owner of Tyler Perry Studios starts tossing dollar bills, whispering something in her ear and continuing to tilt while spreading her legs wide apart.

Usher, wearing a floor-length fur coat and carrying a red leather bag full of money, strolls by with a stack of cash in his hand. Then the camera pans back to Perry, who pushes his way out of the crowd and says, “I’m out.”

Naturally, the comments section of the gossip site was full of comments, many referring to his most famous character.

“Madea, what are you doing here?” One person added, while another jokingly wrote about what he said to her: “Madea said, 'Take this and buy some clothes baby…'. Go and hide.'”

Two others joked: “Tyler Perry whispered in her ear 'You don't have to do that'” and “He whispered 'I have a roll for you'.”

Some brilliant mind suspected that Perry was simply looking for inspiration for his next title, for which some even wrote the title “Madea Goes To Magic City.”

People also talked about how wild it must have been to see Perry there in the first place, hanging around with money like many other men his age.

“Turning around and seeing the ingredients used to make Madea from scratch is like having dollars thrown at you just feels weird,” one person wrote.

The footage emerged days ahead of the Netflix release of Perry's new TV series, Beauty in the Black, which arrives on October 24th.

The 16-episode series follows a struggling stripper whose life is turned upside down after she crosses paths with a wealthy but troubled family that dominates the beauty industry.

The cast includes some of his longtime actors from other shows like “For Better or Worse” and “Acrimony.” From Divorce in the Black, Richard Lawson, Debbie Morgan and Taylor Polidore Williams have joined Beauty In the Black.

After Divorce in Black hit theaters and was called one of the worst films of all time, many accused Perry of exploiting Black trauma to make a film tied to a messy divorce that ends violently for one party .

Cory Hardrict, Meagan Good and Richard Lawson were finalizing their divorces from Tia Mowry, DeVon Franklin and Tina Knowles.

Comedian Loni Love called on Perry to hire black writers and directors who specialize in these disciplines, suggesting that this would lead to better projects.

Following criticism of his work, Perry hit back during a July appearance on Keke Palmer's Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast.

“You have to drown it all out because if you let anyone talk you out of a place that God has put you in, you’re going to find yourself in hell,” he explained. “I know for sure that what I’m doing is exactly what I’m supposed to do.”

He said he understands that people see him as “a sophisticated Negro who stands with his nose in the air and looks at everything, and then there are people like where I come from and me who are grinders.”

But to the naysayers and negative critics, he says, “Don't belittle these people and say their story doesn't matter.” Who are you to say what black story is important or should be told? Get out of here with that bitch!”

Now, Tyler Perry Studios is teaming up with Good's Ex Franklin to bring a faith-driven love story to the screen called “R&B.” Inspired by the biblical story of Ruth and Boaz, King David's grandparents, the film offers a modern take on a classic tale of love and faith.

According to Variety, the film is set in Tennessee and is about a young woman who leaves the Atlanta music scene to care for an elderly widow. She discovers the love of her life and gains the mother figure she never had.

Perry steps away from directing this project and entrusts the role to Alanna Brown.

He didn't write the script either; The screenplay was written by Philadelphia native Michael Elliot, known for “Brown Sugar,” “Just Wright” and “Like Mike,” along with Cory Tynan, who wrote “Play'd.”

Serayah, Tyler Lepley and Phylicia Rashad will star in the film.

Perry was criticized for not handing over the management of his projects to others and taking all responsibility for himself. But it seems like he's listening to his fans for now.
