US investigates leak of classified documents on Israel's attack plans: reports – POLITICO

According to the reports, the documents are attributed to the US Geospatial Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency.

According to the reports, the investigation by US officials will examine who had access to the documents and whether there was an intentional disclosure or whether they were hacked.

One of the documents said the Israeli Air Force was continuing to prepare for an attack on Iran and had reportedly conducted “a second large force exercise.” The Air Force will “likely practice aerial refueling and combat search and rescue operations with large numbers of aircraft,” the document said.

The other document details how Israeli forces are continuing their munitions preparation “certainly for an attack on Iran,” the reports said.

The documents appeared on the Middle East Spectator Telegram channel, which is described as pro-Iranian, and the linked X account shows it is located in Iran.

In a written statement, Middle East Spectator said: “The documents first appeared in a private Telegram group” before being received in a private message.

It was unclear what impact the leak might have on Israel's military planning for a possible attack on Iran or on Israeli-American relations.
