Report for the first half of the year:

The first half of Vettaiyan feels dull and overly formulaic, although there are serious problems. Anirudh's background music has been dull so far and there hasn't been a single climax despite the director adding a commercial touch to a sensitive subject. The interval change is interesting and offers scope for more drama in the second half.

The Vettaiyan show has started with Amitabh Bachchan followed by Fahadh Faasil's preparation for Rajinikanth's introductory fight. Stay tuned for the half-year report.
