SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah football team lost to the TCU Horned Frogs 13-7 on Saturday evening. Utah is 4-3 overall this season and 1-3 in Big 12 play.

It's the first time since 2017 that the Utes have lost three games in a row, and it's also the first time since 2017 that Utah started conference play 1-3.

The Utes finished the game with 267 yards of total offense, including 199 passing yards and just 68 on the ground. It's only the eighth time since then Andy LudwigUtah's return in 2019 (67 games) shows Utah had fewer than 300 yards on offense.

Despite the score, Utah's defense only allowed TCU to convert on four third downs (4 of 17) and also finished the game with six tackles and one loss. The Horned Frogs entered the game averaging 35.3 points per game while the Utes held them to just 13.

Utah struggled to find momentum on offense as the game wore on, scoring its first points of the contest with 6:12 left in the third quarter to make the score 13-7 in TCU's favor. Unfortunately, an interception and a turnover on downs late in the fourth quarter once again kept Utah out of the end zone and TCU secured the six-point victory.

GAME DIRECTOR
Freshman quarterback Isaac Wilson Was 17 of 33 passes (1 TD, 1 INT) for 199 yards and also added 11 rushing yards. Through the air, senior Money parks Had a team-best 79 yards rushing, including a 71-yard touchdown as a senior Micah Bernard Led the Utes with 55 yards and 13 carries on the ground.

On defense, a Utes trio each had eight tackles (Lander Barton, Alaka'i Gilman, Karene Reid), with Gilman also picking up a tackle for loss. Security Tao Johnson added seven stops and a pass breakup at defensive tackle Simote Pepa With a team-high 2.0 tackles for a loss.
