“Velma” is canceled by Max after two seasons

As long as, Velma: Max decided not to renew the adult animated series after two seasons.

“Over the past two seasons, Mindy (Kaling) and Charlie (Grandy) have created an incredibly fun and fresh world within the iconic crime series,” Max said in a statement. “Although we will not be continuing with another season of the series, we thank them for their compelling coming-of-age story, their unmatched clues and their hilarious banter.”

The 10-episode second season of Warner Bros. Animation's Max Original was released on April 25th.

The show followed Velma (voiced by Kaling) – the unsung and underrated head of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang – as she found a way to balance her detective work with the demands of her newfound popularity before it's too late .

The series also stars Constance Wu, Sam Richardson and Glenn Howerton. Guest actors included Jane Lynch, Wanda Sykes, Russell Peters, Melissa Fumero, Stephen Root, Gary Cole, Ken Leung, Cherry Jones, Frank Welker, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Fortune Feimster, Yvonne Orji, Sarayu Blue, Nicole Byer, Ming – Na Wen, Shay Mitchell, Debby Ryan, Kulap Vilaysak and Karl-Anthony Towns.
