Most recently, 47-year-old Martin made a surprise appearance with Ed Sheeran at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival in New York City.

Although Martin and Sheeran were not scheduled to perform, Gayle King introduced the duo as her “new favorite boy band sensation Ed and Chris.”

Meanwhile, during an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe in September, Martin said that the band only plans to release 12 albums in total.

“It's really important that we have this border,” he said, pointing out that the Harry Potter The series consists of seven books. “There are only 12.5 Beatles albums. There is about the same Bob Marley, so all our heroes. And that limit also means that the quality control is so high at the moment, it's almost impossible to make a song out of it, which is great.”
