Watch: Kirk Herbstreit travels to Red River Rivalry, vlogged by College GameDay, after leaving the set early

Sometimes being a top talent in the college football media landscape has its challenges.

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback and key member of “College GameDay,” woke up Saturday morning in Eugene, Oregon, to spend a few hours on ESPN's pregame show. However, in the middle of the show, Herbstreit left the set to prepare for another top duel.

Herbstreit left early to catch a flight because he is scheduled to play for Oklahoma-Texas in Dallas at 3:30 p.m. ET. The flight is over 2,000 miles from the site of No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Oregon on Saturday.

Of course, given the unique circumstances, ESPN took advantage of the opportunity by vlogging Herbstreit's odyssey to the State Fair of Texas.

ESPN set up a two-camera setup for Herbstreit as he was driven to his next location on his trip to Dallas. He also had a microphone and was included in Pat McAfee's antics in the “College GameDay” student field goal attempt that paid off $100,000, led by Nick Saban. Apparently, Herbstreit was even followed by another car in the convertible.

Herbstreit later interviewed Colorado coach Deion Sanders from the jet before leaving Oregon. He then gave an analysis of his flight, which McAfee said sounded “great,” even though Herbstreit “looks like a finger painting.”

ESPN is sending its top crew of Chris Fowler, Holly Rowe and Herbstreit to Oklahoma-Texas, while Ohio State-Oregon, the site of Saturday's “GameDay,” will air on NBC.

Herbstreit had quite a week as he served as color analyst on Amazon Prime's “Thursday Night Football” between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. He then traveled to Eugene, Oregon for GameDay before heading to Dallas on Saturday morning.
