Vice President Kamala Harris opened a beer during her appearance The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, who combines casual charm with the force of a presidential campaign. In the episode, which airs later tonight, Harris showed a more personal side as she dove headfirst into some of the most pressing issues of her campaign.
Democratic presidential candidate Harris' appearance on late-night television was a strategic move to connect with voters on a more relatable level. She opened a can of “Miller High Life” while Colbert won the show. While the beer was playful, the topics discussed were far more serious.

One of the key moments of the conversation was Harris' reflections on the ongoing war in Gaza, a conflict that could potentially sway voters in critical battleground states like Michigan. When asked about the likelihood of a ceasefire, Harris maintained her usual optimism but acknowledged the seriousness of the situation.
“We must not lose faith in the possibility,” she said, urging that while the conflict may not be resolved immediately, “the United States must work and not lose hope and not throw up its hands.”
But Harris didn't stop there. In a sharp rebuke, she doubled down on her previous criticism of former President Donald Trump and responded to allegations made in journalist Bob Woodward's latest book. The book claims Trump rarely sent it Covid-19 testing Machines to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the early days of the pandemic as millions of Americans struggled to access testing.
“I ask everyone here and everyone watching: Do you remember what those days were like?” Harris said firmly. “Remember how many people didn’t have tests and were trying to get them?” she said as she highlighted Trump’s mishandling of the crisis.
