The highly anticipated fourth season of the Netflix teen drama follows the gang on a new adventure in search of Blackbeard's gold. “Following last season's 18-month flash-forward of Wes Genrette's proposal to the Pogues to find Blackbeard's treasure, Season 4 takes us back to the time before that moment,” Netflix's synopsis reads.

Season 4 begins with the crew back in the OBX trying to live somewhat normal lives after finding gold while running their bait, tackle and charter tour store. But after some financial setbacks, “John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope and Cleo accept his offer and find themselves drawn back into the 'G' game for a whole new adventure.”

Cast members returning for the fourth installment include Chase Stokes as John B, Madelyn Cline as Sarah, Rudy Pankow as JJ, Madison Bailey as Kiara, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, Carlacia Grant as Cleo, Austin North as Topper and Drew Starkey as Rafe. After becoming a series regular, Fiona Palomo will also be back as Sofia.

The Outer Banks Season 4 will premiere on Thursday, October 10, 3:00 p.m. ET / Midnight PT on Netflix. Until the release of part two on November 7th, only the first five episodes can be seen.

How did it happen? Outer Banks Season 3 end?

At the end of Outer Banks Season 3: Ward, Big John and the Pogues travel upriver toward El Tesoro. Ward secretly sneaks away and sends his location to Singh. Meanwhile, Big John, John B and Sarah go to a place in the jungle where the gnomon reveals the way to El Dorado.

Eventually they install the artifact, the Gnomon of Solana, and moonlight shines on the characters, which they decipher using Denmark Tanny's notes. They decipher the message, but then Singh and his men show up. Even though Big John is wounded, he still shows Sarah and John B the cave where Ed Dorado is.

They use the clue “The true and patient seeker needs no light to see” to find the location of the lost city. They fill a bag with gold and make it out safely, only to find Singh waiting for them. Singh ultimately dies in an explosion that closes the entrance to El Dorado. The group manages to escape, but encounters another of Singh's men. Big John ultimately dies while holding a piece of gold from El Dorado.

At the end of season three, a man named Wes Genrette finds the Pogues in the Outer Banks and shows them a captain's log that once belonged to the infamous pirate Blackbeard – setting the stage for a new “G” game and another exciting adventure.
