“Why is this funny?” Lara Trump snaps as Charlamagne the God laughs at her claim that Donald isn’t racist

Lara Trump snapped at radio host Charlamagne tha God when he laughed at her for claiming she had “never seen” her father-in-law Donald Trump “say anything racist.”

The RNC co-chair, married to Eric Trump, appeared as a guest on the radio host The Breakfast Club show on Monday, where she was asked about her father-in-law by co-host DJ Envy.

“A lot of people think Trump is racist, and what do you say to that?” he asked her as the pair debated the former president's treatment of the Central Park Five. Trump is being sued for defamation by a group of men who were wrongly convicted of raping a jogger in New York's Central Park in 1989.

At the time, the real estate mogul bought full-page ads in major newspapers with the headline “Bring Back the Death Penalty.” Trump has neither apologized nor retracted his statements.

Lara defended Trump during the 55-minute session.

“I have to say that you have to look at someone and what they actually did, and Donald Trump was really very useful to the black community when he was in the White House,” she said.

“I have to say, I've never seen this man say anything racist, I think the attacks are fair…” she added before being interrupted by Charlamagne, who was heard giggling off-camera.

Lara turned to the host and asked, “Why is this Charlamagne funny?”

“I’m just laughing,” he replied. “It's hysterical. But I mean, people act like there's no such thing as Google, or like we don't have TV, radio…”

Lara then asked him to list some of Trump's racist comments: “What do you think he said?”

On average, the show edited to news footage of the Republican candidate's inflammatory statements over the years.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said in one of the 2015 clips. “They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists.”

Lara emphasized: “This is a man who was loved by so many people in this country and was friends with everyone.”

Last week, Charlamagne interviewed Kamala Harris as part of her media push and she agreed with him when he called Trump's program “fascism.”

The vice president was also asked by a guest on the show what specifically Harris would do for Black people if elected. Harris responded by saying that her life's work is to help the black community, including by addressing issues such as black maternal mortality as vice president.

“My work has been about focusing on my knowledge and experiences in my life,” she said. “Experience the knowledge, the entrepreneurship that we have in the community, the ambition, the desires, the dreams and then capitalizing on those.”

She added that her work was not just about “ensuring that we have one of the lowest black unemployment rates in our country ever,” but also about knowing that this should be a prerequisite “Everyone has a job and what we should invest in also builds wealth in the community.”

On last Friday's show, Charlamagne criticized Harris' Vice President Tim Walz. “I don’t think he’s trash, you know what I mean? But it’s just like I don’t see the impact,” he said.
