Will Trump be at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach because of Hurricane Milton?

Former President Donald Trump will not ride out the potential impact of Hurricane Milton at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach.

Sources confirmed to the Palm Beach Daily News that Trump will be elsewhere due to the storm, which is expected to make landfall on Florida's west coast late Wednesday or very early Thursday. Palm Beach is forecast to experience possible tropical storm-force winds and heavy rain. The area has been under a flood warning and tropical storm warning since Tuesday morning.

South Ocean Boulevard next to Trump's Palm Beach estate reopened Monday afternoon, a move the U.S. Secret Service only allows if Trump will be away from home for an extended period of time.

The Republican presidential candidate has campaigned across the United States in recent months, traveling frequently between events in other states and Mar-a-Lago. When he's not in Palm Beach, he's usually staying at his club in Bedminster, New Jersey, or at Trump Tower in New York City.

According to his campaign website, Trump is scheduled to attend two campaign events in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, where he will address a rally in Reading in Scranton.

Mar-a-Lago has weathered many major storms since its completion in 1927, including the 1928 hurricane that devastated the Lake Okeechobee area and left an estimated 2,500 people dead in the United States
