Windy and warm today with increased fire conditions.

Today's weather in the Twin Cities will bring well above average temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, with gusty southwest winds 15 to 25 mph and low relative humidity below 25% this afternoon, meaning the Combination of warm air, gusty winds and low relative humidity and drying leaves on the ground are leading to an increased fire risk today. Conditions will improve this evening as temperatures fall overnight and winds weaken and relative humidity is higher. Average high temperatures this time of year are in the mid 60s and record high temperatures are in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

Cooler but close to average temperatures return Thursday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 60s with lighter northerly winds 5 to 15 mph. Clear Thursday evening with light winds and patchy fog in the river valleys with Friday morning lows in the low to mid 40s.

Sunshine and comfortable temperatures Friday with south winds 5 to 15 mph and highs around 70 degrees, then lows around 50 degrees Saturday morning.

Increased fire danger will occur again Saturday with temperatures in the high 80s and southwest winds 15 to 30 mph. Isolated T-storms are possible late Saturday evening into early Sunday morning (Sunday 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. – 30% chance).
