WNBA Best Bets Today (Predictions, Prop Bets for Jonquel Jones, Lynx-Liberty Game 2)

WNBA Best Bets Today (Predictions, Prop Bets for Jonquel Jones, Lynx-Liberty Game 2)

Game 1 of the WNBA Finals did not disappoint.

Not only did we get overtime in Game 1, but there were some crucial shots on both sides, most notably Courtney Williams' four-point play that helped the Minnesota Lynx force overtime and ultimately the New York Liberty to upset.

Now the Liberty have their backs against the wall in Game 2.

No team in WNBA history has ever overcome a 2-0 series deficit, so the Liberty need a win on Sunday afternoon to reverse that unfortunate trend.

The odds seem to think that will happen, and have Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and company as seven-point favorites in Game 2. However, as six-point favorites, the Liberty lost outright in Game 1, with Ionescu and Stewart shooting almost 14 of 47 from the field.

Will there be an offensive adjustment to allow the Liberty to attack Minnesota's defense (No. 2 in defensive rating this season)?

Here's a breakdown of my favorite bets for Game 2 of the WNBA Finals.

Minnesota Lynx +7 (-112) vs. New York Liberty – 0.5 units

In game 1, My bet is that Minnesota will cover the spreadand I see no reason not to go back to the well in game 2.

That margin has shifted in the Liberty's favor – despite the fact that they lost Game 1.

New York has been shaky at home all season, going 7-18-1, while the Lynx are 17-7 ATS and 13-4 ATS underdogs on the road.

Minnesota now has one playoff win, one Commissioner's Cup title and two regular-season wins against the Liberty this season.

New York relied heavily on Stewart and Ionescu in Game 1 to shoot the ball better in Game 2, and that has left them in trouble against an elite Minnesota defense (No. 2 in the WNBA in defensive rating).

Both teams shoot a lot of threes, but the Lynx are No. 1 in the league in 3-point percentage and have shown all season that they can keep up with this Liberty team.

Even if Minnesota loses Game 2, I don't expect it to be eliminated.

Jonquel Jones OVER 14.5 points (+100) – 0.5 units

The Liberty need to find a way to get Jonquel Jones more involved in the offense. She attempted just 14 shots in Game 1, although she scored 24 points on 9 of 14 shooting.

Minnesota has no real answer to Jones' size and ability in the post, and she had 21 points and 12 rebounds in New York's only win against the Lynx during the regular season.

Due to overtime, all of the stats for Game 1 feel inflated, but I still think 14.5 points for Jones in Game 2 is a reasonable number.

She has mastered that prop twice so far this postseason, scoring at least 11 points in six of her seven games. After Ionescu and Stewart struggled in Game 1, the Liberty could decide to focus on Jones as their No. 1 option on Sunday.
