Woman killed, man seriously injured in motorcycle accident on LIE: Police

YAPHANK, N.Y. – A motorcycle accident left a woman dead and a man seriously injured on the Long Island Expressway in Yaphank Sunday evening, Suffolk police said.

A 65-year-old Bay Shore man was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson westbound on the highway, west of Exit 68, with Dawn Jimenez-Salta as a passenger in the back seat, when she hit the rear of a Lexus SUV from the Year 2016 hit had slowed down due to traffic
According to police, around 5:25 p.m.

The Lexus then crashed into the rear of a 2019 Audi SUV, police said.

Jimenez-Salta, 60, of Garden City, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead, police said, adding that the man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of his serious injuries was brought.

No one else was injured.

All three vehicles were impounded for security checks, police said.
