Wrexham 'recharged' ahead of Rotherham test – Phil Parkinson

After traveling to the New York Stadium on Saturday to face Steve Evans' side, they host Huddersfield Town next Tuesday before another away game against Charlton Athletic, and Parkinson is looking forward to watching his team beat three strong sides starts.

“It's a good week for us, an exciting one for us profile-wise,” he added.

“I've played against Steve (Evans) a lot, his teams are obviously always very competitive, he's done a great job at Stevenage over the last few years, now he's returned to his old club.

“In the last 10 years they have been top of League One or bottom of the Championship, so that is another good benchmark for us.

“They have been on the rise recently but we go there in good form and good spirits and the players feel they are ready.”

Ahead of his side's 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City in September, Evans said: “We didn't play against the Harlem Globetrotters, who will turn up when Parky (Phil Parkinson) takes over Wrexham with the stars that ownership brings with them. brings here.”

Responding to Evans' comments, Parkinson said: “If that's how Steve described us then that's fine.

“We give every game a certain profile, but I think there is an expectation at Rotherham too.

“When we go to League Two or National League teams it's like 'Wrexham has come to town', the house is full, people are coming to watch Wrexham.”

“I don’t see that that often at Rotherham, the fans have great expectations of getting to the top of the league.”
