WWE Bad Blood Preview and Predictions

WWE Bad Blood Preview and Predictions

It's almost time for WWE Bad Blood!

WWE is coming to the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia for Bad Blood 2024. The premium live event takes place on Saturday (October 5), 27 years after the first Badd Blood PPV event, which featured the iconic Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. (And Kane's debut, forcing his way through the cell door.)

Speaking of Hell in a Cell, the demonic structure is lowered once again to accommodate two superstars whose hatred for each other knows no end.

With that in mind, here are our WWE Bad Blood 2024 preview and predictions.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre – Hell in a Cell Match

background: CM Punk was forced to sit out WrestleMania due to Drew McIntyre's triceps injury in their Rumble match. “The Voice of the Voiceless” cost McIntyre his moment, not once, not twice, but four times – he even traveled halfway around the world to Scotland to stop McIntyre from winning the world title. However, Punk would lose his coveted bracelet to McIntyre for pulling off the Glasgow Screwjob. The bracelet would cost Punk his first match against McIntyre at SummerSlam 2024 before the Voice of the Voiceless would tie the score in a brutal strap match at the WWE Bash in Berlin.

forecast: This rivalry has undoubtedly captivated the entire WWE Universe since January. McIntyre and Punk created such a compelling feud that both men showed little physicality on weekly television. The promo segments between these two men were nothing short of brilliant. From McIntyre's no-nonsense rehab remark to Punk's boogeyman reference, the verbal exchange deserves its own compilation on YouTube.

Punk's victory in the Cell match at WWE Bad Blood would be the ideal conclusion to this epic saga. However, the best in the world may need to be wary of a certain NXT superstar.

Nia Jax (c) vs. Bayley – WWE Women's Championship match

background: Nia Jax became the number one contender for the WWE Women's Championship by winning the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament. The challenger toppled WWE Women's Champion Bayley at SummerSlam 2024 with a little help from Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton. The Role Model spent months chasing the championship before defeating Naomi and becoming the number one contender just two weeks before WWE Bad Blood.

forecast: Nia Jax was absolutely unstoppable in her second run in WWE. She has improved tremendously between the ropes. Her character work has also improved drastically. I don't mind if Nia retains her title against Bayley this Saturday. She deserves a long run. But, but the possible involvement of Tiffany Stratton cannot be ruled out either. It's only a matter of time before Daddy's Little Rich Girl takes the world title.

Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor at WWE Bad Blood

background: Former enemies became allies after Finn Balor accompanied Damian Priest in 2022's “The Judgment Day.” Balor's inclusion proved to be Edge's (aka Adam Copeland) undoing. Priest and Balor spent the following months progressing through WWE's tag team division before the Archer of Infamy successfully captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL. However, Priest's run was cut short by the man he considered a brother when Balor cost him the title against Gunther at SummerSlam 2024.

forecast: WWE first teased this feud during Priest's run as World Heavyweight Champion, but Triple H didn't pull the trigger until SummerSlam this year. Priest had a solid career as RAW's top champion, but it was his fate to eventually leave The Judgment Day. The group continues to thrive with the addition of Carlito and Liv Morgan. Priest needs a win over Balor at WWE Bad Blood to establish himself as a single babyface star. There is no other way to end this rivalry because it has to.

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – Women's World Championship match with Dominik Mysterio trapped in a shark cage

background: This rivalry originally began with Rhea Ripley's heel turn against Liv Morgan in 2022. The Nightmare eventually joined The Judgment Day at WrestleMania Backlash. The feud escalated after Liv's attack on Mami backstage left her injured and prematurely ended her run for the world title. A vengeful Ripley returned on the July 8, 2024 episode of RAW and watched as her Latino heat Dominik betrayed her for Liv during their Women's World Championship match at SummerSlam 2024.

forecast: This entire love triangle storyline has turned out to be a major highlight on WWE television. No one thought Dom could go any deeper. He managed a heel turn while being a heel. Dom's betrayal confirmed WWE's plans to make Rhea Ripley a major babyface. RAW needed one since Becky Lynch stepped out of the spotlight. However, the ideal outcome for this matchup would be Liv retaining her WWE Bad Blood title. A clear win over Ripley would cement her place at the top of the RAW women's division.

Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu – Tag Team Match at WWE Bad Blood

background: Solo Sikoa took over leadership of The Bloodline following Roman Reigns' historic loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. Solo declared himself the “new” tribal chief. The bloodline only grew stronger with the addition of Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu. Paul Heyman was sent through a table. Roman Reigns returned to cost Solo his title match against Cody at SummerSlam 2024. The OTC once again prevented The Bloodline from attacking their arch-rival during SmackDown in the USA – setting the stage for a tag team match at WWE Bad Blood.

forecast: Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns may be tag team partners this Saturday, but they don't like each other. Reigns says Rhodes is getting in his way in life. These are the words of a man who wants the WWE Undisputed Championship back. Rhodes recently hinted at “big title implications” for Crown Jewel on WWE Bad Blood during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. McAfee had something to say about the return of “the big one.” If this is who we all think he is, then it's better not to make a prediction for this highly anticipated duel.

WWE Bad Blood airs live on Peacock for fans in the US and WWE Network everywhere else. WrestleZone will have full coverage of the PLE during the broadcast.
