WWE stars appear to be breaking up

A WWE partnership appears to be on the verge of ending, according to a backstage segment on tonight's Sept. 27 episode of SmackDown.

On last week's episode, WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax and Money in the Bank holder Tiffany Stratton faced Bayley and Naomi in a tornado tag match.

Bayley and Naomi won the match, which means one of them will challenge Jax for her championship on October 5th at Bad Blood – they have a singles match tonight to find out which of them it will be.

However, tonight's match could have been avoided if Jax and Stratton had won last week, and Jax isn't happy about their loss.

Backstage tonight, she grabbed Stratton by the throat and blamed her for the loss, before letting go and saying, “Now we can be friends again.”

Ever since they formed a partnership, it was always expected that they would eventually split up and Stratton would cash in her Money in the Bank contract to win Jax's championship from her, and this seems to be another step in that direction to be.

Pretty Deadly, who lately seemed to be forming something of a “faction” with Jax and Stratton, was off TV for a few weeks for positive personal reasons.

Kit Wilson married NXT's Stevie Turner, while Elton Prince welcomed his first child into the world with NXT interviewer Kelly Kincaid.
