Yankees fans were frustrated by Giancarlo Stanton's inability to run during Game 2

New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton still has some of his signature hitting power, but his lack of speed was a thorn in the team's side early in the postseason.

That much was evident in Game 2 when Stanton failed to field a ground ball, leading to a costly double play. In Saturday's first game, Stanton failed to score from first base due to a double by Oswaldo Cabrera, a play that would have had most runners heading to home plate without hesitation.

Injuries slowed the slugger in the second half of his career, leading to Stanton being advised by Yankees trainers not to run at 100% to avoid further discomfort. While having his strength in the lineup is important to the team, his inability to run the bases often proves frustrating.

After he slowly skated down the first base line during Monday's ALDS Game 2 loss to the Kansas City Royals, fans on social media expressed frustration with his nonexistent speed.
