Yoav Gallant: Israel will not allow Hezbollah to return to southern Lebanon

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, assessing the situation in northern Israel, highlighted the IDF's ground operations in southern Lebanon in recent weeks and the destruction of Hezbollah's infrastructure.

“The first line of villages is a Hezbollah military target, with thousands of weapons and missiles and hundreds of tunnels.”

“These places will be destroyed, and even after the IDF soldiers leave, we will not allow Hezbollah to return here,” Gallant said.

During the visit, Gallant spoke with reserve soldiers and emphasized the importance of creating conditions that would allow communities in northern Israel to safely return to their homes.

“From this observation post, we have a clear view of the first line of villages with Hezbollah military infrastructure. These are important targets where underground tunnels, weapons caches and missile reserves are hidden.”

“Our troops have discovered hundreds of RPGs, ammunition and anti-tank missiles in these areas. The IDF is actively destroying these weapons, both above and below ground.”

Gallant spoke about IDF operations in southern Lebanon in recent weeks, including the fight against Hezbollah and its infrastructure.

“I have instructed the IDF to ensure the complete destruction of this infrastructure and prevent Hezbollah terrorists from returning to these locations.”

“This is a crucial step in ensuring the security of Israel’s northern communities. The IDF's operations are powerful and effective, spanning Beirut, the Bekaa region and throughout Lebanon. “We are now intensifying our efforts along the border and will continue until all are operational.” Goals will be achieved.”
